I have recently thought more about getting into PM. I am currently working in people and performance management in line with customer service, but don’t have a degree.
Is there any recommendations or advise about whether or not this is a realistic goal and what courses to look into?

Anything is realistic. I would talk to your current line manager about getting in to project management. A first step would be to take on some small projects within your current department to get experience and then go from there.
