The Relationship Between a Gantt Chart and a Scope Statement

I'm wondering what the relationship is between a Gantt chart and scope statement?

A Gantt chart is derived from a work precedence diagram. Of which itself is derived from the bottom level of a work breakdown structure. A work and product breakdown structure is more or less the scope of a project.

Thats the theory behind a Gantt chart but how it interfaces with a Scope Statement is an interesting one.

Have I answered that above? Any others?
