Hi all,

I would like a management tool with the following features:

1. Locally installed and not on the web
2. Outlook integration - can attach emails to tasks
3. Task tracking. Possible to express changes in task timeline if waiting for resource or new issue came up. Would like to back track the plan and the changes
4. File attachment. As it is a local install should be unlimited in sizes
5. Multi tag every item
6. Search (especially by tags)
7. Project dashboard
8. Free! :)

Any suggestions?

In my experience Microsoft Project would be the one which would tick most of the boxes for you (except the "free" one, of course!)

If that's not a runner at the price (about $400), then this article is worth a read: 5 Free Alternatives to MS Project

The first one looks promising, although I haven't reviewed these in detail and some of them are probably too simplistic for what you need. There is however likely to be a limit to what you can get for free in any software

I think your requirements fulfil with Apptivo. This tool investment is affordable. Check it out.

I think you should have a look at Proofhub, it's a web-based project management tool.
