Hi
I am assistant professor (computer science) in a university in Saudi Arabia.
I am bit confused in taking exam CAPM or PMP?
I don't have project management related job experience as described by the PMP eligibility requirements, but I do have experience in co-supervising 3 PHD students related to my research field. Also, I have taught "Software Project Management" course at undergraduate level in 3 different semesters. Is this experience sufficient to take PMP exam? or I should start with CAPM?
Any help?
CAPM or PMP? Which exam should I take?
I suggest you contact Project Management Institute Customer Care and discuss your situation with them:

There is a helpful guide called, "Which Certification Is Right For You?" where you can check your eligibility for each exam.

Here is what the PMI say about PMP and CAPM:
"The PMP certification recognizes competence of an individual to perform in the role of a project manager, specifically experience in leading and directing projects".
"The CAPM certification recognizes a demonstrated understanding of the fundamental knowledge, processes and terminology as defined in the PMBOK Guide that are needed for effective project management performance".
