Hello all,
I am trying to start my training off and set me on track. However, I am unsure what the best way to go is. Should I do PRINCE2 or an ILM course. I am not sure which is best or are they totaly different.
Thanks
What is the best route to go?
Your question is quite broad, and you don't say what you'd like to achieve. If you are looking to become a project manager or project team member, then PRINCE2 is relevant. If you are looking for a more holistic management role, then ILM might be better.
A project manager has a broad role and needs many leadership and management skills. Areas such as team-leading and effective team member are relevant to project managers and people that work in project teams.
I did a general management degree before becoming a project manager. It has served me well and given me a good understanding across a broad range of management disciplines. I later took some project management specific qualifications.
Think about what you want to achieve in your career and tailor the training to get you there. Create a career plan using the SMART Goals principle.
I hope this helps.
