Practitioners View on Agile and Waterfall Software Methodologies

Dear Practitioners!

My name is Ankur, I am an MBA student from Bradford University. I am working on a project and want to know practitioners perception of Agile and Waterfall software methodologies.

I am a Project Manager. Recently I finished a project using Agile. If I had chosen Waterfall for that, sure I would have missed the deadline. Main reason was, I had no upfront requirements done. On an another project, I had everything on hand, so I did waterfall. So, it really depends on your project and organization.

Yes Sampath, you are right, even my research and my work experience as a team leader suggest the same all depends on stakeholder commitment and the scenario and the requirement of the client.

Can you please share some more insight, what are the troubles you face in implementing Agile and Waterfall?
