I applied for the role attached, but when applying online it asked for desired salary and as I didn't want to price myself out, I just put my current salary of working in Finance of £22k.

The job spec didn't state the salary.

So now one month post application, I asked HR for salary details for my interview and they said up to £22k. Now since applying in February I see I have undervalued the role, so could someone please share their opinion of the salary for the attached role?

If I am successful in the interview I plan to request a higher salary, but not quite sure how to do this? I will mention my recent PRINCE2, but could I also just say the going rate for this role is higher?

Thanks.

I am also awaiting the result of my recent interview with Ace Group which is paying up to £35k, so I could use this for ammo.

As you mentioned, you're currently working on £22k, but for the next job you must get above your current salary. The salary depend on the following factors:
  1. Your experience.
  2. Projects on which you have work.
  3. Expertise
The most important and last is the capabilities of completing the project in a given period of time within the resources provided to you.

After the selection you can negotiate the salary.
