Hi
New to the forum, Construction PM for a few years.
I work for a boss who has no experience of PM (a senior planner) and whose preferred method of working is to share tasks across the team with no formal communication structure and who likes to amble about having meetings with people without keeping records and regularly forgetting to share his work with the team. I've made progress by introducing a framework, adopting PM software (ProjectPlace) and more recently Project Boards.
However, I just can't convince him that each project should have a Sponsor - he doesn't get it, thinks I'm being unecessarily formal (our projects range from £1m - £15M). I'm thinking about writing it into the Risk Register (another small victory) but I don't want to fall out with him - apart from this he's a good boss and I like the job. Any suggestions?
Thanks
