This book, by John Harvey-Jones, dates back to the mid-1980s, but still contains some very valuable management advice. In the book, John Harvey-Jones looks at his time as chairman of ICI (UK chemicals company), offering commonsense advice on all aspects of business life and management. In particular, the book demonstrates how it is possible to run a company with respect for everyone involved. Particularly pertinent today.
I'm not sure whether the book is still in print, but if you can find a copy, it is well worth reading.
