Hello,

A prospective employer asks for information about my successful projects. How do I describe the projects without spreading confidential information about those projects?

What information should be specified?

Thank you in advance!

Hi Juliana,

Definitely don't mention clients you've work with on the projects and stick to information that doesn't identify them. Most prospective employers will want to understand what skills you bring to the party and your level of competence. In addition, they will be interested to hear about the benefits your projects delivered, for example, reduced cost, improved productivity, better environmental sustainability, etc.

Most potential employers will understand you can't divulge confidential information and should respect you for it. So, unless you are working in a top secret industry, you should be able to talk about your projects without giving anything commercially sensitive away.
