Take a look at APMP too. From initial experience this exam covers quite a lot of what Prince2 doesn't cover.

I was looking at APMP and would still like to do it, there just seems to be more mention of Agile in the job description desirable options than other methods.

Joined a large government based organisation and now find myself in a project environment. PRINCE2 is a good tool but APMP is the tool used, so next stop is APMP. Learned a lot about critical path analysis and the two are very similar in terms of language but written exams are a sticky point with me.

Hi Top Banana,

Well done on your new role. I passed APMP a few months ago. Have to admit I was dreading the written exam having not taken one since 1990. With a bit of practice though they do become easier. Also, and I've no idea whether this is relevant to your situation, the APM do provide assistance if you have any medical issues that may impair your ability to take an exam.

Good luck.

I've got the exam at the end of the week. I hate exams, PRINCE2 wasn't a walk in the park by any means and I'm not sure which is worse.

I signed up for a 3 day PRINCE2 Practitioner classroom training and this is how it went:

Day 1: 6 hours Quick Review of PRINCE2 (Foundation level)
Day 1: 2 hours Introduction to the format of questions in exam paper + answer questions
Day 2: 8 hours Practice Questions
Day 3: 4 hours Practice Questions
Day 3: 3 hours PRINCE2 Exam (2.5 hours)

What I learned during this Practitioner Classroom Training :-(
1) Learned the different format of questions in the exam papers (30 mins)

I am not sure why I took/did a Practitioner Classroom Course - it was a waste of money. I did not pass, but then I followed the tips given above and this worked well for me.

What I feel about the Practitioner Classroom Training
- This is a 1.5 day Q&A training: There is no time to practice PRINCE2
- The word Practitioner is very misleading as you learn nothing about practicing PRINCE2

Tips I can offer
- Find a good Online course with lots of examples of PRINCE2 documents
- Watch the Sample PRINCE2 project on YouTube
- Use the tips given this thread

Hope this helps

Thanks for the comments above, I am now looking for an online course also.

I also just found a free version of the PRINCE2 Sample Project. This contains about 15 sample PRINCE2 documents which it's important to know for the Practitioner exam (Themes).

I can share a copy if you like.

Thanks for any other tips.

Thanks for the great posts on P2P preparation. I have not found this simple question that I have. Can someone confirm on my question.
Does the 2 official paper/ scenario gets repeated in all exams or there is a complete new scenarios for each new exams? (Or per say they have list of 20-100 scenarios booklets) to be tested on.
