Last week saw the release of Planner v3.0. This great tool is from the proven stable of PROJECT in a box and completely free, use it as long as you want or as many projects as you want.

Key features:
  • load data from existing MS Project files
  • export data to create MS Project Files
  • create tasks and summaries with simple dependencies
  • set up resourcing, store % complete, comments and tags
  • move and copy tasks or summaries
  • zoom, pan, timescale management, customise calendars
  • printing and data export
So that's what you expect, right? now for the rest:
  • apply filters based on resource, tags, overdue etc
  • manage resource lists, personalise display colours and data
  • full risk and issue management also built in including:
    • personalise risk calcualtions and collection categories
    • a wide range of analysis and charts
    • response management, filters, printing
Planner can be used standalone or with Community Edition (PRINCE2, PMI, ITIL, Agile) for your methodology management and if you want team or corporate level reporting and resourcing solutions then commercial upgrades are available.
