Re: Reporting status on multiple projects

Hi Nick, I guess in this situation, it would depend a great deal on the type of information that the board is keen on tracking on a continuous basis. Re: What's Your #1 Frustration as a Project Manager?

Re: Learn by doing!

Hi there, Learning by doing is certainly beneficial, but it can certainly be complemented by training and other types of knowledge acquisitions. Ideally, in any work environment having a background prior to being in a real situation certainly helps learn faster and develop quicker. So do not underes...

Re: Change / Configuration Management

Hi Nick, As PMs are expected to be fully aware of the big picture and have been trained for that purpose, I would expect them to get involved at least to ensure that the change process goes according to plans. Though the interaction of various teams during the change process requires the interventio...

Re: Any thought about social network and project management?

Just another thought on social networking and project management. I still think it is critical to use social networking for information exchange in projects where teams members are not co-located. Perhaps, we can reap the benefits only in retrospect. And it depends on the deliverables of the project...

Re: How to start career in UK

Hi there, I guess you have sufficient experience and enough qualifications to hit the ground running. However, I believe that one of the reasons you do not get positive answers is because of no work experience in the UK. It would be indeed a good idea to seek a lower position just to get used to som...

Re: Any thought about social network and project management?

HI there, Social networks certainly can add a plus to project management if used in a convenient way. I guess the issue would be to generalise or impose its use to the entire project team. Certainly some project team members might find it useful, especially in the absence of a project collaboration ...

Hi there, The PMBOK is organised by knowledge areas. These are 10 in total including stakeholder management as a recent addition in its fifth edition. The PMBOK guide reflects a strong execution orientation, tackling hardly any issue on strategy and project definition, the management of external fact...
