Re: Using Gut Feeling or Analytical Analysis?

It's surprising how often 'gut feeling' is right. I've worked with many successful managers and leaders who've based a lot of their decisions on intuition and have done very well. Some people seem to have the knack of instinctively making the right decision. Not to say some analytical analysis isn't...

Re: Right Project Managment Course for a Marketer

Hi Debjani,

It sounds like you already have relevant project management skills and experience. I'd suggest studying the industry sector in which you'd like to work to see which PM qualification is preferred and go for that.

Re: Have the Right Mindset for Your PMP Exam

Like you, I've seldom seen PMP as a stated requirement for project management roles in the UK. It's highly respected in the UK, but you can get as much CV value from APMP and PRINCE2. I'd suggest investigating Agile PM training. It's a growing area and a future trend gaining a lot of traction in the...

Re: 12 project management tools to check out for 2016 - what's your favorite?

Hi Brad, My team make use of Jira for organising and tracking sprint work. It provides an excellent visual overview of what developers are working on and their progress. We display Jira information on a big screen in our office showing tasks in progress by each developer, issues found and issues res...

Re: What is a main priority when looking for PM Software?

For me, the most important attributes are: Ability to collaborate and share with team members Support of Agile project management practices Easy of use (team members should be able to use the tool with minimal training) Clear allocation of tasks and actions Ability to easily show stakeholders planni...

Re: Example of Good Communication

For me, good communication is about keeping everyone updated on all aspects of a project. No surprises. Recently, my development team have started conducting daily stand-ups. It's part of the agile PM approach but is valuable in any methodology. It's a short phone call or Google Hangout where team m...

I agree with you Simon, an excellent book, which helped me pass my PMP exam. It's on the eighth edition now, which says something about its popularity.

Re: PRINCE2 - Is it worth it?

Hi tiger2008, If your ambition is to become a project manager, (I'm assuming you are just starting out in the world of work) you need to start somewhere. A PRINCE2 certification is as good a starting point as any. I would suggest making a project plan and treating your career goal as a project. Obje...
